Description

The 7600 is designed for the high payload and high accuracy. Typically used for handling large loads the 7600 is also often used for high tolerance milling as the strength and stiffness of the arm is exceptional. The high payload means that very large, dangerous or unwieldy parts can be handled robotically, repeatedly to within a fraction of a millimetre. This could be a complete car engine, a large drum of dangerous chemicals or a huge scoop of molten metal.

Characteristics such as high available torque and inertia capability, rigid design and powerful acceleration have earned this market leader its “Power Robot” title. A major concern with robots handling payloads of up to 630 kg will be to safeguard your personnel in the unlikely event of an accident, as well as to protect both the robot itself and your investment. ABB have therefore added a range of measures falling under the umbrella designator of Active Safety - and Passive Safety - system. The robot optimizes the acceleration and retardation, which results in shortest cycle time possible. Payload comes in several versions between 150 - 500 kg (up to 630 kg with “wrist down”). Max reach between 2.55 – 3.5 mm.

The IRC5 controlled IRB 7600, combines the very powerful robot arm with ABB’s latest controller. Which is based on industrial PC architecture giving excellent connectivity and adaptability. The hardware is modular and analogue and digital I/O can be added as needed. The IRC5 uses ABB’s powerful RAPID programming language that is probably one of the best known and most capable in industrial robotics. The IRC5 pendant has a large colour touch screen and joystick control. The IRC5 has a very large number of software options available such as Palletware. This option gives the programmer simple control over multiple palletising programs and stacking patterns.

At Global Robots we check, test and service each ABB IRB 7600 and they come with our 3 months parts warranty. The 7600 is quite rare on the used market, as not too many have been made and those are still mostly in their first application. For a high payload robot they are possibly the best, very quick and strong but based on standardised ABB modular design. Many high payload machines we see are virtually one offs whereas there are hundreds of IRB 7600 (although not the thousands like IRB6600's) this means that the IRB7600 is reliable and dependable.
